What is the Finnish Dendrological Society?

The Finnish Dendrological Society was established to widen our knowledge and experience of woody plants, concerning in particular landscapes as well as in forestry. In co-operation with various other organizations and societies it amasses and exchanges information on species, their adaptation and utility. The society publishes the journal ”Sorbifolia” and the series ”Publications of the Finnish Dendrological Society”, as well as guides to parks in Finland. Other activities include meetings, lectures and excursions.

The society was established in 1969 and has over 1600 members with amateur or professional interests in forestry, botany and horticulture.
